PRAY FOR VOCATIONS
Take the Elijah Cup home for a week to lift up with prayer our Priests and support all vocations,
especially an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Our greatest need is
for families to sign up for the 5:30 Saturday Evening Mass.
Our inspiration is the Biblical account (1 Kings 17:8-16) of the widow of Zarephath, who was asked
by Elijah to prepare a loaf of bread with the last of her oil and flour. Because of her sacrifice,
the widow, her son and Elijah ate for one year - the jar of flour did not go empty and the jug of oil
did not run dry.
If we at St. Philip pray with the faith of the widow of Zarephath, our cup will never run dry, and we
