LITURGICAL MINISTRIES
Altar Servers
Performs the important service of assisting the celebrant during the Mass. Altar Servers must be in 5th
grade or older. Training occurs in the Fall.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ in the form of bread
and wine during Mass. The Ministers receive spiritual, theological, and practical preparation so they
may fulfill their role with knowledge and reverence. Some Eucharistic Ministers take communion to the
sick who are in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, or at home.
Lectors
Lectors have the important responsibility of assisting the celebrant during the Mass with the first and
second readings. Training occurs in the Fall.
Hospitality Ministers
Ushers have the responsibility to welcome all to Mass, assist attendees in finding a seat, pass collection
baskets, and usher during communion. At the end of Mass, ushers pass out bulletins.
Liturgy Team
The Liturgy Team has the responsibility of planning liturgies and meets every month.
